Public Outreach
Public involvement is a crucial component of the federal EIS process. The four (4) main objectives of the Public Outreach initiatives for the EIS are as follows: |

| 1. | Obtain necessary public input as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process; |
||
| 2. | Obtain specific insight necessary to conduct a thorough and accurate environmental analysis; |
||
| 3. | Educate and inform the public as to the details of the project; |
||
| 4. | Establish the credibility of the decision making process. |

The first public outreach opportunity was the Public Scoping Meeting which was held on November 15, 2005. |
